Press Release:

HARMAN technology’s gem of a Student Competition is coming to a close
The pioneering manufacturer is urging students to enter the HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC competition to be in with a chance of winning US$500 of HARMAN PHOTO inkjet products.

It’s the final chance for students to get their digital photography juices flowing and enter HARMAN technology’s 2009 Student Competition, as the deadline for entries is drawing to a close.

The competition is in association with the manufacturer’s digital inkjet brand, HARMAN PHOTO and designed especially for students residing in USA and Canada. Entries must be submitted on HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC – the newest paper to the range – by November 24, 2009 for a chance to win US$500 of HARMAN PHOTO inkjet products. There will also be six runner-up prizes, each winning US$100 worth of HARMAN PHOTO inkjet paper.
Additionally, a prize is lined up for the college that submits the most entries. HARMAN technology will donate US$1000 worth of HARMAN PHOTO inkjet paper as a thank you to the one college that is particularly enthusiastic about encouraging students to take part.

Students wanting to try their hand at the competition can enter under two categories: ‘Interaction’ and ‘Today’.

‘Interaction’ can be the way society interacts, how people interact with their environment or interact with each other – anything that entrants identify with the word interaction.

For ‘Today’, HARMAN technology wants an image that specifically illustrates the world as it is today. It could feature anything from the environment to the credit crunch to an image literally featuring today, such as recording an event taking place on a particular day at a particular moment, either locally or internationally.

HARMAN’s President of Marketing, Steven Brierley commented:
“These themes were deliberately chosen to be broad in order to encourage a diverse range of images covering a wide range of subjects. The judges will be looking for images that are original, imaginative, contemporary and powerful.”

The overall winner will be chosen from either category and three images from each category will be chosen for the runner-up prizes.

All entries can be submitted on either HARMAN CRYSTALJET GLOSS RC or HARMAN CRYSTALJET LUSTER RC inkjet paper. These have been designed to offer superior levels of imaging performance that’s priced to provide excellent value for money. It is therefore a perfect choice for photography students wanting to practice their skills. How HARMAN CRSYTALJET RC differs from other products in the HARMAN PHOTO range is that it is resin coated rather than fiber based to make it a cost effective alternative. Both HARMAN CRYSTALJET RC papers are widely available throughout North America.

Steven Brierley concluded:
“We anticipate that the quality of the winning image, printed on our exceptional paper, will produce an outstanding and stunning piece of photography and we look forward to announcing this winner in December 2009.”
