Press Release:

There are times when you might want to mount the camera and underwater housing on a tripod, a camera crane or similar fixture.

For these occasions we have developed our ewa-marine Tripod-Connector system.

The Tripod-Connector is permanently fixed to the housing of your choice in the factory. It comes with an external screw thread to connect the housing to the tripod and features an internal connector plate, similar to that found on tripods, that you will have to fit onto the camera before “clicking” it into the shoe in the housing. Both sides feature a standard 1/4″-20tpi (threads per inch) screw thread as fond on all regular cameras.

If you need a Tripod-Connector please send us a inquiry on our contact form and state the make and model camera you intend to use.

Please note, that the Tripod-Connector might make the housing less generec and limit the range of cameras that you can use inside the housing.

Lightness, compactness and comfort is what a first-time photographer looks for when he chooses a tripod. M-Y carbon is the easiest solution for the new generation of photographers who are looking for a simple to use and light support for their DSRL, without accepting compromises on performances.

After the successful Photokina launch of the M-Y family, a range of easy and compact tripods, Manfrotto, is now proud to present the new carbon version: the M-Y CARBON tripod (732CY).

Designed and manufactured with high level technical solutions coming from the Manfrotto know-how in professional products, the M-Y Carbon, thanks to the carbon fiber that allows for higher rigidity and lower weight, is the perfect solution to get the best photographic performance.
The payload of the M-Y Carbon (3,5Kg) is the highest among the M-Y range.

Moreover, the M-Y carbon introduces the innovative Expander, a new mechanical fixing of the first leg section to the collar, that allows the M-Y carbon to be more reliable and stable. This expanding system allows to tighten the leg to the collar, keeping always a high rigidity and assuring a long lasting performance.

This new tripod is the perfect solution offered to the new generation photographers that are looking for good performances together with lightness and portability: when folded the 732CY reaches a compact size of 42,5cm, with an opened height of 134,5cm and a total weight of less than 1Kg.

Continuously questioning “the standard” in tripod design and materials, Gitzo has developed the world’s first stainless steel tripod casting, and integrated the technology into its massively popular Traveler series to produce the new Ocean Traveler Kit.

The Stainless Steel Ocean Traveler includes a center ball head that can be easily disassembled in order to clean the inner parts from salt, dust and sand that may get trapped inside. Coupled with Gitzo’s unique Carbon 6X material, the tripod offers an unbeatable combination of sturdiness while being extra lightweight, and being able to be used in the harshest of environments – even salt water – making this the ultimate travel companion for serious photographers.

The stainless steel casting is made using an extreme production process involving a cutting edge technology called Metal Injection Moulding (MIM). The casting is treated in a way that completely closes porosity, even at microscopic levels – something usually associated with the production of surgical equipment – eliminating any opportunity for corrosive substances to attack.

Unique to the Ocean Traveler, Gitzo has enhanced its well-known G-Lock leg locking system to suit the extreme environments this new model is likely to encounter. Called Ocean-Lock, the new locks include special inserts at both ends which minimize the amount of water and debris that may enter the tubes and mechanisms. Derived from the automotive industry, the Ocean-Lock meets the highest standards in terms of sealing and longevity, and delivers the same performance as G-Lock: 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger locking with gravity effect.
